Cafe Central

Café Central is a beautiful space situated in the Foyle Family Justice Centre in the heart of Derry City.

After many years of planning we opened the doors on 21 March 24.

It operates as a social enterprise with all profits generated shed back to Foyle Women’s Aid’s programmes.

The café is open to all and serves a range of delicious foods, including speciality sandwiches, hot food, sweet treats and award-winning coffee from the North Coast.

Café Central also offers places on the hospitality academy, providing women a safe space to train as they overcome barriers from lack of opportunity. They will gain the necessary skills in hospitality to start a fulfilling career and guidance in building towards a positive future.

Irene, Mary and Annette all spoke about the bad times, but also how Foyle Women’s Aid have empowered them to live very different lives.

The Café will help fund the organisation, but also has a skills programme designed for service users. It is hoped many of the women involved will end up working in Café Central.
